High impact colors like black and red tend to grab readers' attention, but make sure that your text is on a light background. Light backgrounds are easier on the eyes, and they will make your product images stand out.
A picture is worth a thousand words? At least. So use pictures on your site. Not just your products, but happy people who look like they could be customers or employees. There is a link below to a site that has stock photos you can use on your website (at very reasonable prices).
Testimonials to your great products and customer service are things that your customers are very interested in. Make sure these positive comments about you are displayed on your website's home (first) page. Or, at least begin the testimonial on your home page and then have a link to more on another page of your website.

Try to be brief, to the point, AND HONEST. You need to describe your service and/or product, and tell your site visitors why your product is better than others. However, your readers will lose interest if they have to read a novel.
